Health and veterinary care

Every African Grey we place is examined by a qualified avian veterinarian before travelling. We maintain records of vaccinations where appropriate, parasite checks, and overall physical examinations. You receive a copy of these records along with a written health guarantee outlining what is covered and for how long.

Diet and weaning

Our parrots are weaned onto a balanced diet based on quality pellets, fresh vegetables, some fruit, and carefully selected seeds and nuts as treats. We provide you with a detailed feeding guide, including a list of safe foods, dangerous foods to avoid, and a sample daily schedule. We do not send home unweaned parrots; we believe proper weaning by an experienced hand feeder is essential for health and emotional security.

Socialization and early training

During their time with us, African Greys experience regular and respectful handling from different family members so they are used to various voices and body language. We introduce basic concepts like stepping up, calmly returning to the perch, and exploring new toys in a positive way. This early foundation makes later training much easier and more enjoyable for both you and your parrot.
